Decorative Shotblasting
For many years Shotblasting has only been recognized as a floor preparation proceedure or as an alternative to sandblasting horizontal surfaces without the aesthetically pleasing finishes.
Shotblasting is an environmentally friendly method of etching or roughing the surface for bonding or slip resistance.
Green Rhino have developed the Decorative Shotblasting product to provide a very eye catching finish and to apply patterns and more importantly a slip resistant surface.
Decorative Shotblasting can be applied to most concrete or even tiled surfaces. We`ve completed numbers of projects on which we can provide information.Firstly with regard to producing from slippery surfaces (polished concrete, pavers, ceramic tiles) a nonslip surface to comply with Australian Safety Standard AS4663.
We can provide both pictures of completed projects and actual slip test results. Secondly with regard to a shotblasted design directly and permenantly into the concrete. We have completed two government projects, being Roma Street parklands for the brisbane City Council (600sq/m) and the Margate forshore redevelopments for Redcliffe City Council. Pictures are available on request.
Finally without having seen a shotblasted tile it is perhaps difficult to envisage- we can provide a service which allows us to etch a sample tile which you can send to us a minimum of 6 tiles required.
